In 2007, an online survey of 514 Canadians with moderate to severe psoriasis found that only 24% were very satisfied with their treatment. Earlier research in the United States, sponsored by the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) found that almost 50% of people with severe psoriasis are “not at all satisfied” or are “just somewhat satisfied” with their treatment.
The NPF also found that in the United States at that time, 39% of respondents with severe psoriasis and 37% with moderate psoriasis were not receiving any treatment at all.
The 2007 survey of Canadians with moderate to severe psoriasis found that 15% – more than one out of every seven – are not receiving any treatment at all.
We’ve seen that psoriasis carries a heavy load physically and emotionally. If you are not receiving treatment or are not happy with your treatment, you should speak with your doctor.
