The medical community will use terms like mild, moderate and severe to categorize your psoriasis. In general, severity is classified as:
MildOnly a few spots, less than 3% of the skin surface.
SevereMore than 10% of the skin surface.
Moderate3% to 10% of the skin surface.
However, if you are unable to cope with your daily activities, due to psoriasis affecting your hands or feet for example, then your psoriasis may be considered severe even though it affects less than 10% of your body surface. To give you an idea of skin surface, your palm represents about 1% of the total body’s skin surface.
