In the Fall of 2007, Janssen conducted focus groups of Canadian psoriasis patients to understand what is missing in the information available to date on the internet. The response was overwhelmingly “Help us deal with the emotional &social impact of this disease”.
www.livingwellwithpsoriasis.com provides the basics on psoriasis in the About Psoriasis section, but then dives right into the other impacts beyond skin plaques in Impact. We have peppered the site with surveys, quizzes, and the opportunity to see how other patients have answered to provide real-time feedback.
Patients told us that they sometimes do not pursue treatment because they tire of the inconvenience or believe other options will be too expensive. We have provided a guideline to treatment in Treatments as well as methods to obtain funding if necessary in Taking Action.
The Living Well section is here to provide tips on everything from dealing with hot weather with how to dress. Patient Tools is an area where we have listed some resources where you can find support groups, definitions and more information.
